On Saturday March 5th, 2011  Martin Scott Field was ordained and consecrated to be the 8th bishop of the the diocese of West Missouri.  In a beautiful and sacred time of worship that included singing (some by a choir of second grade children), sacred dance, brass accompaniment, beautiful organ music and a procession of hundreds those assembled praised God, received the Word of God in English, Spanish and American Sign Language, prayed, pledged support and prayer and shared eucharist. As our friend, Ezgi Saribay remarked “It was so holy!”

The 121st Convention of the Diocese of West Missouri was held in Kansas City on November 5-6, 2010. The Very Rev. Martin Field was elected 8th bishop of the diocese.

Bishop Field  made his  first Diocese of West Missouri  parish visit on Sunday March 13, 2011 at All Saints’ Church! Jana Miller was the first person confirmed by Bishop Field.
